The ACT Humanist Society is offering a short (6 classes on consecutive Sundays) course on Humanism.
With the latest census results showing more than 30% of Australians rejecting religion Humanism is the leading candidate to replace religion as a source of values and meaning in life. Humanistic thinkers predate Christianity and Islam and there are a wealth of sources to draw from in understanding Humanism.
The course presents key humanist concepts with a view to encouraging people to analyse them, and use them to develop their own ideas, rather than presenting them as a rigid official orthodoxy. Enrolling in this course is a chance to find out more about Humanism, and to meet other Canberrans interested in Humanism
The course will be at the Weston Creek Community Centre and starts on Sunday March 10, finishing on April 14. Classes are from 10:30am till midday.
Prices: $60.00 for employed people, $30.00 for others. For ACT Humanist society members $40.00 for employed members and $20.00 for other members.
