Protest in support of Witness K and Bernard Collaery

  • ACT Courts Knowles Pl Canberra Australia (map)

There will be a protest at the ACT Courts in Knowles Pl Civic at 8.30am on 6th August to support Witness K and Bernard Collaery at their court appearance.

This prosecution of people who were willing to stand up for what was right and expose the Australian government's duplicitous actions of bugging the Timor Leste Government during negotiations about the sharing of the Timor Sea oil, is a travesty of justice.

Along with other whistleblowers like David McBride (Afghan files) and the journalists who have had the temerity to try and inform the public on these and other so-called security issues, they need our strong support. These prosecutions and intimidation of journalists are a real threat to our democracy.

I hope you will be able to be there and to help circulate the notice of this event.

If you would like to sign a letter of support to Witness K and Bernard Collaery, please let Sister Susan Connelly know at susan.connelly@sosj.org.au

Sister Connelly will be also be speaking at the event.
